Jim has been one of the sport's trainers of champions for years. He has made his three lakes ski site available for numerous AWSA events, including Pan American Championship and the 1997 U.S. Team Trials. Jim's competitive career was cut short by a knee injury in 1958, when he began concentrating on coaching. He emigrated from his native Missouri to Florida in 1967, which allowed year round coaching.
