Three-time world record-holder Jennifer Leachman-LaPoint has enjoyed 30 years as a professional water skier and icon of the sport. She won her first U.S. national title in slalom at age 15.  At age 21, Jennifer tied her first women’s world slalom record of 4 buoys at 38 feet off.   Jennifer won two national collegiate slalom titles while at the University of Central Florida.  After college, she opened the Jennifer Leachman Training Center and O’Town Water Sports.  Jennifer held or shared the world record in 1985, 1987 and once again in 1996. The highlight of her career was winning the Michelob Light Professional World Tour Title in 1991.  She won more than 30 pro events in her long career. What Jennifer considers one of her most important accomplishment was founding the Women of Water Skiing in 1992.  This grassroots organization was dedicated to teaching women and children to ski through free clinics all across the country.  WOW Sports produced more than 50 TV shows exclusively showcasing women’s water skiing. Jennifer continues to share the sport with others at LaPoint Ski Park, a new water ski club in Orlando that she opened with husband and water ski legend Kris LaPoint, a 2008 Hall of Fame inductee.
