Harry and Artis Price

Harry and Artis Price have been active in the sport for well over a half a century as competitors, promoters, and pioneers. The couple has skied in more national championships than any other man or woman in history and participated in the 2015 GOODE National Water Ski Championships in August at ages 88 and 85, respectively. Harry and Artis are pioneers in documenting and promoting the history of water skiing that included conducting and recording the interviews of the Hall of Fame Inductees and Award of Distinction members since the first Hall of Fame class in 1982. They helped write and publish the book "Water Skiing with Champions" in 1969. It was sold at Cypress Gardensand distributed nationally. They promoted skiing while appearing on many network television shows including "To Tell the Truth," "The Today Show," and "Outdoor Sportsman."
Harry and Artis have given over 200 water ski clinics at the Chicago and Midwest Boat Shows. In 1960, they founded, directed, and skied in The Lambs Show Ski Tournament that became part of the Midwest Triple Crown of Show Skiing. Together they have won over 160 gold medals in slalom, tricks, jumping, and overall at the Nationals and six gold medals in the Senior World Competition. They were members of the first Senior World Team. Harry was presented the USA Water Ski Foundation's Award of Distinction in 1992 and Artis in 1998.
