The USA Water Ski and Wake Sports Foundation awards thousands of dollars in scholarships to young water sports athletes nationwide. Some of these water skiers may be years away from college or university, but these scholarships are giving them a head start on funding their education!
The AWSA National Overall Scholarships are awarded annually at the Goode Water Ski National Championships to the overall winners of each of the Boys and Girls Divisions.
The Foundation will hold the scholarships in escrow until these young people attend the college or university of their choice.
Ridge Krueger of Winter Garden, Florida, won the 2024 Boys 1 National Overall Points Award and the $2500 Jim Grew Boys 1 Scholarship. Ridge won the slalom and jump events and placed second in tricks to win that title. He will graduate from high school in 2032.
Brooke Burdick of Brighton, Michigan, won the 2024 Girls 1 National Overall Points Award and the $2500 Jim Grew Girls 1 Scholarship.
Brooke won tricks and slalom events to capture the overall title. She will also graduate from high school in 2032.
Brooke and Ridge both competed in the U10 age division at the 2024 U.S. Water Ski National Championships at Ski West Village near Bakersfield, California.
Thanks to Jim Grew for sponsoring these scholarships and supporting our young athletes!
