Wes Cory is awarded the 2024 Ed Hickey Scholarship

Wes Cory of Sacramento, California, has been chosen as the 2024 recipient of the $5,000 Ed Hickey Scholarship. Wes is an incoming Sophomore at UCLA and is studying Mathematics and Economics.

“I feel overwhelmed by the honor of receiving the 2024 Ed Hickey Scholarship. I will not forget how waterskiing and this organization helped me both on and off the water. Hopefully, I will be able to continue giving back to this sport that has helped me in so many different ways," says Wes.

The USA Water Ski & Wake Sports Foundation scholarships are awarded each year to water skiers who show leadership abilities and demonstrate that involvement in the sport has helped them grow both personally and academically.

Established in 2022, the Ed Hickey Scholarship is awarded to the outstanding male applicant who attends a four-year accredited college and skis primarily in AWSA, NCWSA, or USA-AWSWS tournaments. The applicant must demonstrate excellence in academics, athletics, leadership, and volunteerism.

The USA Water Ski & Wake Sports Foundation is very proud of our young athletes and honored to support their future academic needs. You can help support our mission by joining or donating to the foundation at the link below.

Established in 1968, the USA Water Ski & Wake Sports Foundation celebrates the history of all towed water sports and promotes these sports through our Scholarship and Collegiate Grant Programs and the Water Ski & Wake Sports Hall of Fame.
